Strong Willed Sweetie

I have “that” child.

The child who hits the ground running as soon as he wakes in the morning. The child who requires constant supervision because he has no fear. The child who is the most hectic at family gatherings. The child who whines and cries and then smiles at a pack of crackers. The child who will have a complete meltdown if he misses nap time. The child who, I’m sure, is the topic of conversation after an event. The child who has so much emotion that he just ends up screaming. The child who seems so independent at such a young age. The child that makes me google “how to parent a strong willed child.”

I have “that” child.

The child who has a personality out of this world. The child who brings the fun to everyday. The child that is NEVER boring. The child who gives the best hugs. The child who is so very smart. The child who I can’t wait to get into sports because I know he’s going to rock. The child who would play outside every second of everyday. The child who never walks but always runs. The child who will use his fire to be a leader one day. The child who has so much love to give. The child who melts me when he says “hi mommy.” The child who I continue to fall in love with each and everyday. The child who makes me question my parenting daily but also shows me how blessed I am.

My strong willed sweetie, I wouldn’t trade your personality for the world. God is going to use you and your fire for such great things.

To all the mommas out there who feel like they are failing. Who have strong willed sweeties and question everything daily. I see you and you are doing a wonderful job. We have our work cut out for us but we do not have “bad” kids. I like to use the words; exciting, adventurous, energetic. It doesn’t matter if they are 18 months or 18. They will always be so full of life, and why would we ever wish to take that away from them? I love being mom to my energetic, firey, hardheaded, full of love little boy. Life would be so boring if he was any other way.

To the mommas who can relate to this on a personal level, please feel free to reach out! I would love to chat or lend a listening ear. No judgment here. We are in this together! Good luck mommas.

Pey ❤️
