Real Life

I would like to say that my life is perfect. That my son, Silas, never cries and is content the majority of the time. That my house is always spotless. That the dishes and laundry are always washed. And I would like to be that mom that always has snacks prepared and dinner on the table by 5. Here’s the thing, in my mind I am that mom. Then reality slaps me in the face and proves me wrong. But I’m okay with that! My son is a good baby. My house is usually in decent shape and my husband is always fed…maybe not by 5 but he never goes hungry. The reason I am writing all this is because I want this blog to be real. I want it to portray the real me. Sure, you can look at someone’s pictures on Instagram and think they have it all together. Always remember that they are real people. People who probably have a few dirty clothes on their bedroom floor or dirty dishes in the sink. We all fall into the trap of comparison at least once in our lives (me included!) That’s why I am starting this blog off real. I want to be a cheerleader for others! An encouraging voice, a bright light in someone’s life. I’ve always loved the saying, “Good vibes only” and that is what this blog will be based on. If you constantly feed positivity into your life you will start to see great things happen!

So to the mom who has re-warmed the same cup of coffee for the 3rd time this morning because her kids are at the peek of neediness, you’ve got this!! To the women who seems to have a never ending to do list with an already full plate at work, you are so strong and determined! To the “yes” girl who always wants to help others but seems to get trampled with everything swirling around her, you are the sweetest and the clouds will soon clear. No matter what type of woman you are (stay at home mom, working mom, teenager, etc.) you are strong and capable of so much! We are all different but the one thing we can have in common is how we encourage each other. Remember, flowers and Christmas lights are both beautiful but look nothing alike.

Thank you for reading a little into my “real” life and seeing a little of what I’m about. The majority of my posts probably wont be this in depth but I had to make the first post a tad personal.  If you don’t know me my name is Peyton Riley. Most people call me Pey. I am married to the sweetest soul and have the most precious baby boy. I will write more about them later, seeing as though I could write for days about them. Don’t worry, I wont. 😉 Our sweet little family may not be perfect but we sure are a ton of fun and love each other unconditionally! Below are a few of our recent family pictures that are AMAZING! Jennifer Lee (JLee Photography) has been photographing Si since he was a newborn and we just love her. She’s SO great at what she does and really cares for her clients. She’s also freaking hilarious which is always a plus for me! If you would like to see more recent pics, follow me on Instagram. (PeyyRiley_) Warning: You might get a daily dose of Si man. Yes, I’m that mom.

God Bless,

Pey
